LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. --MFA Oil Co.'s new prototype for its Break Time retail concept is a 5,000-square-foot site in Lee’s Summit, Mo. It features a new logo and fresh exterior that unites the fuel island and store.
MFA Oil Co. ranked No. 82 on CSP's2017 Top 202 list of the largest convenience-store chains in the United States. MFA Oil Co. worked with GS&F, an advertising agency out of Nashville, on its new branding concept.

The inside of the store features low-profile shelves and eye-catching graphics for the fountain, coffee and foodservice areas.
To create a more open feel, bulkheads from previous store designs were removed, leaving room to raise the ceiling to 11 feet.
Also, the checkout counter was moved from the center of the store to the side to create more space and allow the customer to peruse the aisles.
A direct path leads customers from the entrance to the Smokestack Bar.B.Q concept, and sight lines allow them to see other food offerings, as well.
The stained concrete floors have a high-sheen finish, which reflects the light and creates a brighter atmosphere.
The Roasters Cafe is where customers can find coffee and cappuccinos.
Break Time has an array of fountain beverages on hand, in addition to tea and lemonade.
A f’real machine offers customers milkshakes and smoothies.
A beer cave has automatic doors to make it easier for customers to haul cases.
In addition to its barbecue concept, the store has pizza and roller-grill fare.
