RaceTrac has opened its first travel center in Huntsville, Alabama. This is the convenience-store chain’s third RaceTrac store catering to large fleets and professional drivers. The travel center, at 1855 Highway 72, also marks RaceTrac’s eighth store in Alabama.

“Many professional drivers who pass through neighboring areas of North Georgia and Tennessee are already familiar with our brand and our mission of making people's lives simpler and more enjoyable,” said Justen Giambalvo, vice president of construction, engineering and special projects at RaceTrac, Atlanta. “As we continue to open stores across Alabama, we hope to reintroduce RaceTrac by working closely with the local communities where our guests live and work.

  • RaceTrac is No. 15 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 ranking of convenience store chains by store count.

RaceTrac customers can choose from a variety of food and beverage options including grab-and-go pizza and sandwiches; whole and cut fruit and salads; Swirl World frozen treat station with frozen yogurts, sorbets and toppings; freshly ground and brewed “Crazy Good Coffee;” and more c-store staples like hot dogs and Tornados.

The travel center features a clean and well-lit parking lot and a chance for customers to earn rewards through the RaceTrac Rewards program and mobile app. It brings about 40 new jobs to the Huntsville community.

The Huntsville travel center also features 16 front-canopy fueling positions, offering drivers three grades of gasoline as well as diesel and E85. It has an extended backcourt canopy with seven lanes for high-flow diesel with bulk diesel exhaust fluid to serve small to mid-sized fleet drivers.

RaceTrac also recently opened its first store with EV chargers in Oxford, Alabama.
