Performance Food Group (Eby-Brown & Core-Mark)

Valued at $2.5 billion, Performance Food Group Co.’s 2021 acquisition of Core-Mark Holding Co. Inc. is set to create a convenience wholesale powerhouse within PFG’s Vistar distribution segment that will include Core-Mark, as well as the Eby-Brown distribution business, which PFG acquired in March 2019.

Richmond, Va.-based PFG is a foodservice distributor with a nationwide network of more than 100 distribution facilities and suppliers across the country. It markets and delivers food and related products to more than 200,000 locations.

The expanded convenience business will operate under the Core-Mark brand and will continue to be based in Westlake, Texas. Scott McPherson will continue in his role as president and CEO of Core-Mark.

The transaction, completed in September, builds upon PFG’s current foodservice focus within the convenience channel, adding additional customers and product offerings, particularly in the fresh-food space.

With the closing of the transaction, PFG has total net sales of approximately $44 billion.
