Angie’s Boomchickapop Debuts Microwave Popcorn

Available in Real Butter, Sea Salt and Lightly Sweet Kettle Corn flavors

CHICAGO – Conagra Brands has introduced Angie's Boomchickapop Microwave Popcorn, the newest addition to the ready-to-eat (RTE) popcorn brand, at retailers nationwide. The product has suggested retail price of $3.99 for a four-count carton.

The microwavable popcorn arrives in three flavors: Real Butter, Sea Salt and Lightly Sweet Kettle Corn, all of which are made with whole-grain popcorn and sustainably sourced palm oil. They are non-GMO and gluten-free and contain 35 calories per cup. The Real Butter variety contains butter and sea salt, while the Lightly Sweet Kettle Corn flavor is made with cane sugar and monk fruit extract.

"We see great potential for Angie's Boomchickapop to continue growing as we focus on bringing the attributes consumers look to the brand for flavorful snacks made with real, simple ingredients into new products and categories," said Kevin Moses, senior brand manager of popcorn for Conagra Brands. "With Angie's Boomchickapop Microwave Popcorn, we saw an opportunity to create a new experience for our fans: enjoying a hot, freshly popped bowl of our flavorful popcorn while feeling good about what they're eating."

Angie's Boomchickapop Microwave Popcorn also comes in a package designed for easy popping and less cleanup. Once consumers place the package—a "fresh pop bowl"—in the microwave, it stands up on its own in the shape of a bowl.

Mankato, Minn.-based Angie’s Boomchickapop was founded by Angie and Dan Bastian with the goal of creating a snack that is “packed with positivity, not guilt.”  The company is owned by Chicago-based Conagra Brands Inc., a packaged-food business that also manufactures brands including Marie Callender's, Reddi-wip, Hunt's, Healthy Choice, Slim Jim, Orville Redenbacher's, Alexia, Blake's, Frontera and Duke's.
