NewTide Development Inc. is transitioning from its incubation phase and launching an artificial intelligence (AI) software innovation company for the fuels and convenience retail markets.

NewTide, Charleston, South Carolina, aims to create industry focused AI agents that work with customers’ current technology to solve supply, trading, logistics, procurement, accounting, merchandising and retail operations challenges by transforming organizational data into business outcomes using both traditional machine learning and generative AI.

The new company is being led by three industry veterans.

Doug Haugh, former president of Parkland USA, Calgary, Alberta, serves as founder and chairman of NewTide. Haugh has more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in the oil and gas business. He serves as an independent director at Ergon, an oil and gas company based in Fleetwood, Mississippi; is a board director at BioBlend Renewable Resources, an oil and gas company based in Park Ridge, Illinois; and is chairman of the board for Trux, a construction logistics platform based in Boston.

Vlad Collak (right) is CEO of NewTide. He was the founder and CEO of Talentr, an innovation lab that provides AI solutions for organizations, which NewTide acquired. Collak also previously worked at PDI Technologies, Alpharetta, Georgia.

Brandon Huff (left) is NewTide’s chief product officer. He previously served as senior vice president of fuel and data products and president of global operations for Titan Cloud Software, Franklin, Tennessee.

Since 2023 we have been quietly building the foundation, vision and organizational structure for NewTide AI, and are now ready to launch for additional customers, said Haugh. What makes us different is we intimately know the fuels and convenience retail industry and we work securely with customers’ existing data and technology to build innovative and cutting-edge AI solutions that will help them solve challenges, reduce costs, add efficiencies and gain a competitive advantage.
