Pall Mall Packaging Gets Upgrade

Sporting new, "more contemporary" look

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- R.J. Reynolds Tobacco's Pall Mall cigarette brand is sporting a new, "more contemporary" look beginning this month.

This change "reflects the continued positive interest from adult smokers, making Pall Mall the No. 1 value cigarette brand in the United States, and the No. 4 best-selling brand overall," said Richard J. Smith, lead manager of communications for Reynolds American Inc.

Pall Mall will be upgrading its packaging for both packs and cartons, beginning in late September and into early October 2014.

The upgraded packaging will reflect the current color theme of styles, now with a more premium and relevant design. The existing color scheme of styles will be the same (orange, red, blue styles, along with green, black and white for Pall Mall menthol styles).

Each pack is embossed for a premium in-hand feel and appearance, the company said, and the product inside the package will not change.

Specific timing of the packaging upgrade flow-through will depend on existing inventories, it added, but adult smokers can expect to see it on store shelves in the coming weeks.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, an indirect subsidiary of Reynolds American Inc., is the second-largest tobacco company in the United States. R.J. Reynolds' brands include two of the best-selling cigarettes in the U.S.: Camel and Pall Mall. In manufactures these and its other brands, including Winston, Kool, Doral, Salem, Misty and Capri, in a variety of styles and markets them in the United States.
