Total sales of tobacco products topped $75.5 billion in convenience stores in 2022, up from $64.7 billion the previous year.

Cigarettes continue to own the lion's share of the category with $54.3 billion in sales, according to Circana data for the 52 weeks ending Feb. 26, 2023.

Smokeless tobacco products continue to grow share of the behind-the-counter sales pie as cigarettes and vape slow down.
