CHICAGO --CSP technology editor Jackson Lewis took a walk through the new Amazon Go store that opened in Chicago on Sept. 17. The 2,000-square-foot store invites people in with a swipe of the Amazon Go app and the promise of never having to wait in line to deal with a checkout clerk.
Despite the small footprint, the store, Amazon's fourth "just walk out" unit, is chock full of packaged foodservice options—sandwiches, salads, wraps, bowls and heat-and-serve meals, as well as meal kits—that it hopes will have office workers stopping in for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
