CSW Industry Perspective: Billy Colemire

‘An equitable seat at the table’

It’s a pleasure to be associated with the inaugural C-Store Women event. Even more so, it’s truly a blessing to be part of an industry that recognizes the need to design an entire series of events over a 12-month period focused on empowering and developing the next generation of female leaders who will help us chart that course.

At Stinker Stores, our purpose is to make our world a better place, one employee, one customer and one community at a time by being a bright spot in the lives that we touch. We try to live our purpose in everything that we do, and that includes providing development and learning opportunities to many diverse voices, including all current and future female-Stinkers.

When I stumbled into this great industry upon graduation in 2010, there were certainly fewer events pertaining to this topic. It’s extremely rewarding to be a part of an industry that often and regularly looks inward to ensure that all perspectives and voices have an equitable seat at the table. Although we may not be exactly where we want to be today, we are on an expedited path to get there and are surrounded by some of the best and brightest!

Billy Colemire is director of marketing at Stinker Stores, Boise, Idaho.
