Madison Capital Group Holdings has a new CEO for its convenience-store chain Fresh Stop, the real estate investment and development firm told CSP on Friday.

“Fresh Stop has identified its next CEO, and we’re excited about the leadership this individual will bring to the company’s continued growth,” Madison Capital Group told CSP. “While we’re not in a position to share details on the appointment just yet, a formal announcement will be forthcoming soon.”

The new CEO will replace Joe Teague, who held the role of CEO at Links and Fresh Stop for about a year, according to Teague’s LinkedIn page.

In addition, Mark Torres has been appointed CEO at Links Car Wash, owner Madison Capital Group told CSP.

Torres brings more than 16 years of industry experience and a demonstrated ability to scale high-growth operations, most recently serving as chief development officer at Quick Quack Car Wash, where he led the opening of more than 220 locations nationwide, underscoring his commitment to disciplined growth and operational excellence, the company said.

Meanwhile, Madison Commercial has hired Joshua Hamby as executive managing director, the company said Tuesday. Madison Commercial is the commercial real estate development platform of Madison Capital Group.

The appointment of Hamby accelerates the expansion of the company’s retail development platform, Charlotte, North Carolina-based Madison Capital Group said.

Hamby will lead the sourcing, structuring and execution of development opportunities in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, the company said. He will focus on building scalable retail and net-lease platforms, with a specific emphasis on growing the Fresh Stop and Links Car Wash member companies.

The hirings come after the departures of Teague and Matt Pickelsimer. Pickelsimer left his position as president of Fresh Stop and Links in February, he confirmed with CSP. Pickelsimer joined Fresh Stop in June 2025.

“I left Fresh Stop (and Links) in February,” Pickelsimer told CSP. “Beyond that, I’m not in a position to comment, but I wish everyone the best.”

Fresh Stop is an affiliate of Madison Capital Group. Fresh Stop opened its first location in Arkansas on March 29, 2025.

Growth phase

Madison Capital Group on March 17 announced the launch of a fund targeting $200 million in capital commitments from accredited investors and intends to use the proceeds to invest in convenience-store and express car wash assets.

“Convenience stores and express car washes represent compelling essential service businesses with consistent consumer demand, multiple revenue streams and potential tax efficiency,” said Ryan Hanks, CEO of Madison Capital Group. “We believe this strategy aligns with our broader philosophy of identifying real assets in growth markets and structuring opportunities designed to optimize income and after-tax performance for investors.”

Fresh Stop’s website lists 16 locations and one coming soon.

Ken Carpenter, president of Madison Capital Group, said Hamby’s experience and track record position him to play a key role in the firm’s next phase of growth.

“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to our fast-growing firm,” Carpenter said. “We believe the Fresh Stop and Links franchises have significant room to expand, and we look forward to leveraging his expertise and experience to help fuel Madison Commercial’s continued growth.”

Hamby brings more than a decade of experience in retail real estate development and has been involved in more than $1 billion in projects across more than 40 states, the company said. His expertise spans the full development life cycle, including site selection, underwriting, entitlement strategy, consultant coordination, construction management and disposition planning.

Other additions

Madison Capital Group on Thursday announced the addition of two senior leaders to support its continued expansion. Justin Boruchov has joined as managing director of finance and Jeff Guyette as chief development officer.

Boruchov brings extensive experience in structured finance, with a focus on value-add reposition loans, land loans, construction financing and bridge lending across all asset classes, Madison Capital Group said.

Guyette brings a strong track record of driving growth, operational excellence, and strategic expansion across the service, retail, and investment sectors, the company said. He has held leadership roles with convenience-store chains including QuikTrip and RaceTrac.
