BALTIMORE -- A new gas station in South Baltimore's Locust Point neighborhood is the latest building to go "green," reported The Baltimore Business Journal.
The 6,000-square-foot facility, which includes a BP gas station, a Quiznos Sub shop and a Chesapeake Market, features a "living roof," said the newspaper. A living roof is a roof with plants and soil that helps to absorb rainwater runoff. Six different varieties of Sedum plants will be housed on the roof. It cost $42,000, the report said.
The BP is the first business to open [image-nocss] on what is known as the Locust Point Loop Road, according to the report. The stretch, which is along the eastern portion of Key Highway, will open next month and serve as a connector to the Tide Point business complex.
