SCS's 7-Eleven Stores Team Up With USO

Retailer supports troops throughout May with flag donation program
ODESSA, Texas -- For the third consecutive year, Southwest Convenience Stores LLC and the United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) have launched a fundraising partnership. Throughout May's Military Appreciation Month, participating 7-Eleven stores in New Mexico and Texas will offer their customers the opportunity to demonstrate support for America's troops by making a $1 donation to the USO and signing a specially designed flag to be hung in each store. Last year's campaign raised more than $25,000 for USO's morale-boosting programs and services worldwide.

"After the success [image-nocss] of the last few years, we are looking forward to once again partnering with Southwest Convenience Stores," said Sloan D. Gibson, USO president. "The support of Southwest and their 7-Eleven customers truly lifts of the spirits of our military men and women and allows the USO to continue providing America's heroes a home away from home."

"We thank the USO for the work they perform every day for our military members and their families," said John West, director of sales and marketing for Southwest Convenience Stores. "As we approach Military Appreciation Month, I can't think of a better time to support our troops and their families around the world."

The USO currently operates more than 140 centers worldwide, 11 of which are located in Texas. Each center provides morale-boosting programs and services to troops and their families. As a nonprofit organization, the USO relies on the generosity of the American public to support its vital work.
