Jiffy Mart Launches 'Cups That Count' Program

Retailer will donate $2 from sale of each cup to featured school

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Jiffy Mart, a division of Tevis Oil, has announced its new "Cups That Count" program in an ongoing effort to contribute to the welfare of the communities in which it does business.

Each Jiffy Mart location will feature a 20-ounce travel mug stamped with "The Cups That Count" logo, school logo and school colors. The retailer will donate $2 from the sale of each cup to that featured school.

Westminster High School is the first school partnering with Jiffy Mart in this new program.

Customers purchasing this cup will have the added benefit of receiving their first fill free and a discounted refill price when they use the cup for future fountain soda purchases.

"The name of this program is very fitting as the cups sold really do count. All proceeds from the cup sales go directly back to the local school to support our customer's kids and their education right here in the county," said Dwayne Cover, business manager.

"Purchasing a Cup That Counts will not only raise money for the schools, but the reusable mug is also good for the environment", said Tom Moser, general manager.

Jiffy Mart, a division of Tevis Oil, currently operates four stores in Carroll County, Md. Two locations are in Westminster, where the company is based, one is in Finksburg and one in is Hampstead.

Tevis Oil was formed in 1932. In 1981, Tevis Oil diversified into the convenience store industry. The first store, located in Finksburg and originally called Tevco, was primarily a self-service truckstop featuring less-expensive, unbranded gasoline, along with hot food, drinks and several convenience items. After the success of the first store, Tevis Oil continued to open new stores over the years, with each one offering a little more than the last. In 1987, the Jiffy Mart brand was born, and in 2001 all Tevco convenience stores were branded Jiffy Mart.
