With a market share of 3.33% in 2018, QuikTrip is part of a club inhabited mainly by major fuel brands with hundreds more locations. The Tulsa, Okla.-based retailer had a market efficiency of 4.88 in 2018, a number that only promises to grow as QuikTrip expands into two of its latest markets: San Antonio and Austin, Texas. "We have been accepted early by the consumer as their choice for gasoline and convenience-store items," said Mike Thornbrugh, manager of public and government affairs for QuikTrip Corp. "We have five open stores and around 20 sites under construction and a lot under development. [We have] a long way to go, but the early results leave us very optimistic."
