SIGMA to Honor Doyle

Executive vice president to receive Distinguished Statesman Award
FAIRFAX, Va.-- The Society of Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) has announced that Kenneth A. Doyle, CAE, executive vice president of the organization, is the recipient of the 2010 Distinguished Statesman Award.

The SIGMA Distinguished Statesman Award is given to an individual whose deeds and efforts have made a significant contribution to the welfare of the retail fuel marketing industry.

"Because of his integrity, his contributions to SIGMA and his real passion for the overall good of the petroleum industry, the board of directors is excited to bestow this award [image-nocss] to Ken," said Carl Boyett, SIGMA president and CEO of Boyett Petroleum, Modesto, Calif. "It's rare to select an individual who is not a SIGMA member for such a high honor. But as the leader of the organization for 30 years, it's easy to see why Ken is worthy of this mark of distinction. SIGMA is fortunate and proud to have him at the helm of the association.

The formal awards presentation will take place at the Awards Luncheon on Sunday, November 14, 2010, during the SIGMA Annual Meeting in Boston. The meeting will be held at The Westin Hotel from November 11-14.

SIGMA is a major national trade association representing independent motor fuel chain retailers and marketers, both branded and unbranded. Representing about 260 member companies, SIGMA's mission is to benefit their members by helping them improve their ability to succeed in a free and fully competitive market for transportation fuels.
