Healy Systems certifies Gilbarco Veeder-Root for vapor recovery compliance

HUDSON, N.H. -- Healy Systems Inc. has certified Gilbarco Veeder-Root to install and use its vapor recovery systems on Gilbarco and Gasboy branded gas pumps. The systems provide compliance with requirements of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) On-Board Recovery Vapor Recovery (ORVR) and Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) Phase II Vapor Recovery regulations.

At existing sites that require upgrades to meet CARB On-Board Recovery Vapor Recovery (ORVR) requirements, the Healy retrofits are approved for use on all eligible Gilbarco and Gasboy dispensers [image-nocss] and pumps.

For new sites that require compliance with EVR regulations, Gilbarco Encore series and Gasboy 9800 series gas pumps meet the requirements when a Healy EVR system is included. For new sites that require compliance with ORVR only, such as Texas, all Gilbarco and Gasboy dispensers and pumps are approved when a Healy ORVR system is included.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Healy have partnered to provide the In Station Diagnostics (ISD) component, which is required for full EVR certification. Full EVR certification, including ISD, is expected in early September 2005.

The combination of Healy Systems and Gilbarco dispensers provides petroleum marketers with a solution for CARB compliance at both new and existing sites, said Bob Shepard, director of channel marketing for Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root supplies and integrates new and proven technologies to reduce cost of ownership, enhance environmental integrity and improve performance and profitability for petroleum marketers and commercial fueling enterprises worldwide.
