20 Cool New Products at CDA Marketplace

There were new products for every convenience-store category, including new keto energy shots; CBD edibles, topicals and shots; smoothie bowls; and even a fragrant toilet spray.

Stacker 2 Keto Shots
The keto craze has reached the energy category with Stacker 2 Keto Shots from Andover, N.J.-based NVE Pharmaceuticals, a manufacturer of herbal dietary supplements. The berry-flavored shots have zero sugar, carbs or calories, which supports the low-carb, high-fat keto diet.
Pampers Changing Kits
Available from Melrose Park, Ill.-based Convenience Valet, Pampers Changing Kits contain two Pampers Baby-Dry Diapers and six Pampers Wipes. Convenience Valet also showcased Pampers Diapers, Downy Wrinkle Releaser and Tide laundry in single-load pouches. The products are the result of Convenience Valet’s new partnership with Nehemiah Manufacturing—a Cincinnati-based producer of cleaning supplies, wet wipes, air fresheners and diapers—to distribute its brands in convenience stores, travel shops and other small-format stores.
Fruit Love and Oscar Mayer meat and cheese snacks
Chicago-based Kraft Heinz called attention to its refrigerated snacking portfolio, with new innovations such as Fruit Love Spoonable Smoothies and its Oscar Mayer meat and cheese snacks, both of which are set to launch in April. Fruit Love will come in two flavors: Harvest Berry Blend, with real strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, carrots and beets; and Blueberry Dream, with real bananas, apples, squash and blueberries.
The Oscar Mayer meat and cheese snacks come in Natural Uncured Hard Salami & White Cheddar and Natural Uncured Hard Salami & Monterey Jack varieties. They have 18 grams of protein per 1.2-ounce package.
Febreze Car air fresheners and Tide Antibacterial Fabric Spray
Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble is launching two new scents for its Febreze Car air fresheners. The Old Spice and Platinum Ice scents are targeted toward the male shopper, the company said.
Procter & Gamble also showcased new Tide Antibacterial Fabric Spray, which sanitizes and freshens hard-to-clean fabrics and surfaces such as seats in a car.
Organic Valley Organic Snack Kits and Mighty Organic Meat Snacks
La Farge, Wis.-based Organic Valley had several new products on hand, including Organic Snack Kits and Mighty Organic Meat Snacks. The snack kits, which are marketed for adults, come in three varieties: Sharp Cheddar Cheese & Beef Summer Sausage, Pepper Jack Cheese & Beef Summer Sausage and Mozzarella Cheese & Roasted Garlic Beef Summer Sausage. All three varieties come with wheat crackers.
The Mighty Organic Meat Snacks portfolio includes 0.75-ounce meat sticks in Original, Teriyaki and Spicy Jalapeno flavors; stand-up bags of beef jerky in Original, Peppered and Teriyaki; and meat bars in Sweet Chili Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, Uncured Bacon & Apple, Beef Cranberry & Sunflower Seed and Beef Uncured Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper flavors.
Reliva CBD edibles, topicals and shots
New to the CDA Marketplace show floor this year were a couple of cannabidiol-based (CBD) products. Reliva CBD Wellness showcased its CBD gummies, tinctures and sprays, as well as a CBD-based relief stick, lip balm and relief cream. All of the products contain 0% tetrahydrocannabinol, which means the products are not psychoactive.
Ignite CBD Pods
Joy Bol
Battle Creek, Mich.-based Kellogg’s featured its new Joy Bol smoothie bowls in Strawberry Almond Quinoa Crunch, Superberries & Acai and Chocolate Hazelnut flavors. Consumers simply add cold water to the bowl for a quick on-the-go breakfast or snack. The varieties have 10 to 11 grams of protein per bowl.
M&M's Flavor Vote varieties
Hackettstown, N.J.-based Mars Wrigley Confectionery had its three new M&M’s Flavor Vote varieties on hand for attendees of CDA Marketplace. The limited-edition flavors, which consumers can vote on, are Mexican Jalapeno Peanut, Thai Coconut Peanut and English Toffee Peanut. The company will announce the winning flavor in August, and it will continue to be sold at stores around the country.
Oopsie Poopsie
You may have heard of Poo-Pourri fragrant sprays for toilets, but have you heard of Oopsie Poopsie? This new product from Mar Company Distributors, Miami Gardens, Fla., comes in Lemon Bergamot, Orange Ginger, Flower Citrus and Lavender Vanilla flavors. Oopsie Poopsie sprays have an SRP range of $3.99 to $4.77.
Gardetto’s Crisps and Epic Performance Bars
Minneapolis-based General Mills showcased its Gardetto’s Crisps, bite-size crisps seasoned with the bold flavor consumers associate with Gardetto’s. The light and crispy snack comes in a 3-ounce package and two flavors: Original Recipe and Peppercorn Ranch.
The company also highlighted its new Epic Performance Bars in Lemon, Almond Butter Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter Chocolate flavors. The non-GMO bars contain 12 grams of protein per bar.
Reese’s Chocolate Lovers and Peanut Butter Lovers
Launching just in c-stores in April are two new limited-time varieties of Reese’s: Chocolate Lovers, which surrounds Reese’s signature filling in more chocolate, and Peanut Butter Lovers, which has an extra layer of peanut butter on top. Both will arrive in standard and king sizes.
Fudge Covered Nutter Butter and Limited Edition S’mores Oreo
Deerfield, Ill.-based Mondelez International highlighted its new Fudge Covered Nutter Butter cookies and Limited Edition S’mores Oreo, both of which will arrive in smaller formats for convenience. Fudge Covered Nutter Butter cookies are made with real peanut butter, and S’mores Oreo features graham cracker-flavored cookies with a marshmallow and chocolate center. S’mores Oreo will launch in April.
David Sour Cream & Onion Sunflower Seeds and Hot AF Slim Jims
Chicago-based Conagra Brands had several new products at its booth, including David Sour Cream & Onion Sunflower Seeds and Hot AF Slim Jims. The Sour Cream & Onion Sunflower Seeds are salted and roasted. The flavor is a first in the category, the company said.
New Hot AF Slim Jims bring the heat in two sizes: a 1.94-ounce Monster stick, as well as a standard 0.97-ounce stick. The snack sticks are made with beef, pork and chicken.
