7-Eleven Rolling Out Treats

Retailer offering SheerBliss, Sweet Factory, Supreme Protein, Halo 3 products

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. will be carrying several new snack and candy products, among other new offerings.

SheerBliss Ice Cream, an ultra super premium gourmet ice cream company, has announced the availability of its Pomegranate Ice Cream Bars in more than 800 7-Eleven stores as of Sept. 3, 2007. Primarily in Northeast locations, the 3.67-oz. bar is sold in single-serve boxes and features pomegranate-flavored ice cream dipped in a dark chocolate coating.

SheerBliss Ice Cream produces its pomegranate ice cream using 100% pure pomegranate [image-nocss] juice and not a blend of other fruit juices, it said. The Hallandale Beach, Fla.-based company uses no egg products or corn syrup solids and unique production methods help remove air allowing for the creamiest ice cream available to consumers, it added.

Anaheim, Calif.-based Sweet Factory has introduced its own proprietary retail line of candies to be available outside of its traditional stores. Sweet Factory has launched their proprietary Sour Madness Mini Green Apples and Chocolatey Covered Gummi Bears nationwide at 7-Eleven.

And Supreme Protein Inc. said its Supreme Protein Bar has established itself as the retailer's No. 1 seller in the protein/energy bar category soon after being introduced there, according to the Spotswood, N.J.-based snack company.

The bar is a four-layer combination of nougat, peanuts, caramel and protein crisps. It also delivers 30 grams of the proteins and provides a variety of vitamins, minerals and healthy fats (including flax seed oil). It comes in both a Carb Conscious version (for those with low-carb lifestyles) and a High Energy version (for those seeking a higher-carb burst of energy). The Carb Conscious version also comes in a smaller Snack Size for those with smaller appetites.

The company said the bar also is or will be available at Hess, Chevron, Murphy Oil, Ricker Oil, Travel Centers of America and Speedway SuperAmerica (October).

And for a different kind of treat, Dallas-based 7-Eleven is joining Burger King Corp., Comcast, Mountain Dew and Pontiac in taking pre-orders of Microsoft Corp.'s Halo 3 Xbox 360 video game, Microsoft said.

Consumers can order one of the three versions of Halo 3: Standard Edition, Limited Edition and Legendary Edition.

7-Eleven said it is supporting the launch of Halo 3 through a variety of in-store promotions, including three Halo 3-branded collectible Slurpee cups. In addition,7-Eleven will run a Halo 3 promotion with Mountain Dew Game Fuel and Doritos, with thousands of Halo 3-themed prizes, including, as grand prize, a chance to win a role as a voice actor in the upcoming Xbox 360 video game, Halo Wars, by Ensemble Studios.
