Utz Partners With WeStock Crowd-Stocking Application

Collaboration will allow c-store customers to request products

HANOVER, Pa. — Utz Quality Foods has partnered with WeStock, an application that allows shoppers to request that stores restock food and beverage products.

Utz is WeStock’s largest brand partner, as of the June announcement. The crowd-stocking application, which launched in February, offers more than 150 brands. The company defines crowd stocking as the process of allowing customers to directly influence purchasing decisions.  

The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store. Customers can request certain products are restocked or carried by their local store. WeStock then notifies shoppers when and where specific products are available.

“In this rapidly changing, data-driven marketplace, we were impressed with WeStock’s ability to help shoppers find more interesting and unique foods,” said Mark Schreiber, executive vice president and chief customer officer for Utz. “We look forward to helping WeStock expand their user base while ensuring shoppers can find Utz brands anytime, anyplace.”

Utz snack products are distributed nationally and internationally to grocery stores, convenience stores and more. Its brands include Utz, Golden Flake, Zapp’s, Dirty Potato Chips, Good Health, Bachman, Bachman Jax, Wachusett, Snikiddy and Boulder Canyon.

WeStock, based in Fort Lee, N.J., has received more than 8,000 requests for its brand partners.
