Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group company, has launched a strategic refresh of its SmartStock program. SmartStock leverages consumer insights, IRi industry data and a robust data engine to provide actionable insights to more than 15 categories in convenience, the Westlake, Texas-based company said.
The program transitioned in 2020 to focus more directly on category management solutions, with enhancements like dedicated in-store visits, space management software-delivered plan-o-grams and customer-specific analytics.
The 2024 SmartStock refresh adds:
- Monthly category focus with in-depth analysis and action item implementation.
- Speed to Shelf: Early access to new and innovative items.
- Exclusive promotional benefits.
Core-Mark consultants will visit c-stores twice a month to share industry insights and review recent store performance via the SmartStock dashboard. Based on the analysis, category management and merchandising recommendations will be provided, the company said.
“In an effort to continue to provide best-in-market category management solutions, we took a deep dive into the platform to ensure we were delivering a strong value proposition with advanced data analytics capabilities, and real-time insights,” said Chris Murray, executive vice president of marketing at Core-Mark International. “The refreshed SmartStock program allows our retailers to execute performance-driven category management easily and effectively while significantly growing their business.”
Core-Mark offers a full range of products, marketing programs and technology solutions to about 50,000 customer locations in the United States and Canada through 37 distribution centers. It services convenience stores, drug stores, grocery stores and other stores that carry convenience products.
