Town Pump to Add 'Smoking Huts '

Structures give customers place to light up

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- Town Pump's properties in Great Falls will soon have external structures for smokers.

Cory Benjamin of Town Pump presented plans for six of the smoking "huts," which have open roofs and dark glass panels, to the Design Review Board members this past week, according to a report in the Great Falls Tribune.

The structures will be placed at 401 10th Ave. S., 702 10th Ave. S., 1411 10th Ave. S., 3800 10th Ave. S., 501 Northwest Bypass and at the Lucky Lil's liquor store and casino on Fox Farm Road.

The plan for the Fox Farm Road property [image-nocss] was approved with a stipulation. The structure will be placed on the backside of the building and will reduce the length of two existing parking places.

Board member Bruce Forde's motion requires Town Pump to convert the parking spaces to compact vehicles spaces if possible. If not, Town Pump will need to submit an alternative plan.

Town Pump also will place smoking structures at its locations on Gore Hill, a Town Pump and the newly purchased Flying J facility, said Benjamin. Those properties are located out of the city limits, so Design Review approval is not required.

Construction will begin as soon as the building permits are approved, said Brooke Logan of Diamond Construction, which is the contractor for the project.
