Sunflower/Pumpkin-Seed Sales in C-Stores Drop Nearly 10%

After two years of healthy growth, likely driven by the desire for healthier snacks, sunflower- and pumpkin-seed sales dropped a painful 10% in convenience stores during the 52 weeks ending Jan. 26, 2014, based on data from IRI, a Chicago-based market research firm (@iriworldwide). One reason for the decline may be the addition of other kinds of healthy snacks in c-stores.
