Not Your Father's to Roll Out Second Line Extension

New flavor to get national distribution

WAUCONDA, Ill. -- Small Town Brewery will launch Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale, a creamy botanical craft beer brewed with Madagascar vanilla, nationwide in June.

Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale

Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale, which combines a lightly sweet flavor with a smooth finish, is Wauconda, Ill.-based Small Town’s third nationally distributed product after the rollout of Not Your Father’s Root Beer in March 2015 and Not Your Father’s Ginger Ale in November 2015.

The idea for Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale was inspired by Small Town Brewery founder and brewmaster Tim Kovac’s nostalgia for the flavors of his childhood in Illinois.

Similar to the Root Beer and Ginger Ale beers, Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale is inspired by gruit brewing tradition. Gruit is German for “herbs” and is an ancient way of bittering and flavoring beer using roots, spices, flowers and berries. The result is an adult version of a favorite childhood classic.

The Vanilla Cream Ale is brewed with a unique blend of spices that create a light, sweet flavor with a smooth finish, according to the company.

“When we began brewing Vanilla Cream Ale at our brewpub, the first batch sold in less than a month, and the customer response has continued to be amazing,” said Kovac. “At Small Town, our goal is to expand the boundaries of the ordinary beer experience by creating unique and innovative craft-beer brands to be enjoyed with friends and family. We're very excited to bring Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale to our loyal customers across the country.”

Not Your Father’s Vanilla Cream Ale will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles with a suggested retail price of $10.99.
