Girard Promoted at Van Holten's

Named national sales director for pickle-in-a-pouch maker

WATERLOO, Wis. -- J.G. Van Holten & Sons Inc.'s, the Waterloo, Wis.-based pickle-in-a-pouch manufacturer, has announced that Eric Girard has been promoted to the position of national sales director.

As national sales director, his responsibilities will include directing a sales territory along with managing Van Holten's regional sales staff.

Girard joined Van Holten's as a regional sales manager in 2009. During his time at Van Holten's, he has demonstrated the ability to sell across trade channels, has provided excellent management to the company's broker sales force and has consistently grown sales in his territories.

Van Holten's started in 1898 as a vinegar distributor in Milwaukee and soon added sauerkraut and pickles to the product line. In I939, Van Holten's developed the original Pickle-In-A-Pouch. This product concept of individually wrapped pickles is now the cornerstone of Van Holten's business.

The company moved to its current location in Waterloo in 1956. In 1992, Jim Byrnes, a Milwaukee based entrepreneur purchased Van Holten's.
