S. Abraham & Sons 'Celebrates America' With Annual Event

Convenience store distributor's show is in its 27th year

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- "Celebrate America ... SAS Salutes the Stars & Stripes" is the theme for the 2013 S. Abraham & Sons (SAS) Vendor Exhibit & Trade Show. The convenience store distributor's show opens on Feb. 21 at 9:00 a.m. for multi-store owners and at 2:00 p.m. for all customers. The show continues on Feb. 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., the site of the 27th annual show, will feature 150 booths, representing 214 manufacturers; 13 suppliers will represent new lines for SAS.

Customers will place their orders on a USB flash drive, which then allows them to take the flash drive home with their show orders. Approximately 1,500 stores will be represented by buyers at this year's show.

Life, Liberty & American Bandstand is the theme for Thursday evening's trade show entertainment. The evening will begin with an All-American Buffet and continues into the night with good music, great desserts and a fun night of surprises! Detroit's Simone Vitale Band will light up the dance floor.

Taking the "Celebrate America" theme to a new level, the SAS Merchandising area will feature an all-wooden barn to serve as the "general store," complete with split-wooden fence.

From the all-new Joe Coffee program to the Fruit Ridge Farms fresh sandwiches, salads and meals, it will all be "down on the farm," said the company.

The show features programs including Fast Fixin, Alligator Ice and Alligator Ice Cream, Beantown, F'Real, Hot Off the Grill and Blue Bunny Ice Cream, among others.

A car raffle is a highlight to the event. Based on qualifying purchases, one customer will win a 2013 Chevy Cruise. In addition to the car raffle, SAS will award two trips to Kauai, Hawaii, as part of the Awesome Achiever Marketing Incentive Program. These trips will be awarded based on qualifying purchases at the trade show.

Grand Rapids-based SAS distributes 12,000 items to 3,600 customers in nine states, from two distribution centers.
