Matt’s Cookies Launches S’Mores Flavor

Line extension available for a limited time this summer

WHEELING, Ill. -- Soft-baked cookie producer Matt's Cookie Co. has launched a new flavor to its cookie roster, S’mores, which is now available to Chicago retailers for a limited time this summer.

Matt’s S'mores cookies are free of artificial preservatives, flavors and colors and are Non-GMO Project verified. They are fresh-baked and packaged in portable, resealable bags, fitting with today’s consumer snacking trends. Sixty-nine percent of patrons say freshness is important or extremely important when choosing a snack, according to Technomic’s 2017 Snacking Occasion Consumer Trend Report.

"We are a brand that was founded on simple and wholesome ingredients since our beginning in 1979,” said Mark Magnesen, CEO of Matt's. “We have never used artificial ingredients in our cookie recipes, and we've continued that tradition with our great tasting S'mores cookie."

Wheeling, Ill.-based Matt's Cookie Co. manufactures small-batch, soft-baked cookies in chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, peanut butter chocolate chip, cranberry walnut and double chocolate chip varieties. The company also produces a line of Fig bars. The cookie maker was acquired by Chicago-based investment firm Capital City Ventures in 2016.
