Wenzel's Farm Celebrates Plant Manager's Success

Schlafke graduates Master Meat Crafter program

MARSHFIELD, Wis. -- Meat-snack maker Wenzel's Farm is celebrating the advancement of one of its own.

The company’s assistant plant manager, Adam Schlafke, recently graduated from the Master Meat Crafter Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The two-year program, which has only seen 89 graduates since its launch in 2010, is limited to 30 students per class and provides extensive knowledge of meat science, safety and processing principles. Applicants with at least five years of experience in ownership, operation or employment in a meat-processing establishment are heavily considered.

“[Adam’s] hard work and dedication brings a great deal of credibility to Wenzel’s Farm,” said President Mark Vieth.

Marshfield, Wis.-based Wenzel’s Farm has provided handcrafted, small-batch meat snacks and products since 1949. The company’s products are available online on its website and at locations including Mills Fleet Farm, Kwik Trip and Tractor Supply.
