C-Store Model Has to Change'

NOCO Express opens store within store in Williamsville, N.Y.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- NOCO Express Stores has opened its newly rebuilt gasoline convenience store in Williamsville, N.Y. The store, which officially opened for business last week, highlights NOCO's store within store concept, featuring a Nickel City Market Caf a and Charlie the Butcher Express.

Our store will change the competitive landscape in the gasoline convenience store industry in Western New York by providing even more convenience and choices to our valuable customers, Michael F. Newman, executive vice president of NOCO Energy Corp., said. In [image-nocss] order to survive in such a competitive industry, the convenience store model has to change and we are confident that our partnerships with Charlie the Butcher and Nickel City Caf a will help us fulfill this business objective.

The new NOCO Express offers customers a variety of meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nickel City Market Caf a, the first in a NOCO Express, offers customers a selection of coffees, espressos and fruit smoothies. The Caf a, open 24 hours a day, features breakfast sandwiches, doughnuts, muffins and bagels, all of which are baked fresh throughout the day on-site. It also includes a drive-thru.

With the installation of state-of-the-art bakery equipment, for the first time we have the ability to make all of our baked goods directly on site, ensuring freshness and more choice for our customers, Henry Bays, general manager of NOCO Express Convenience Stores, said.

Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Charlie the Butcher offers hand-carved roast beef and turkey, as well as a variety of sandwiches daily. Customers will be able to choose healthy dinner-on-the-go options including roast beef, baked ham, turkey and corned beef, with their choice of various side dishes. A selection of salads and homemade soups will also be available everyday.

In addition, customers can select from a variety of grab-and-go items, such as sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit. The new NOCO Express encourages customers to enjoy their meal or cup of coffee in-store, with a caf a-like seating area. Accommodating up to 40 people, the seating area also features two plasma TVs for a customer's viewing pleasure.

At 5,300 square feet, the open design of the new Williamsville store features a new d acor package, including a picture history of NOCO and plasma TVs advertising weekly specials. Customers will also find expanded cooler and merchandising space along with a walk-in beverage cooler.

Our intent in remodeling the Williamsville store is simply to accommodate today's on-the-go lifestyles, by offering gasoline, high quality meals and other everyday food items all in one location, Bays said.

Customers will find 16 fueling stations all with a pay-at-the-pump option, additional parking spaces and a propane tank exchange, as well as a full service island staffed 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new NOCO Express, open 24 hours a day, took about four months to rebuild and will employ approximately 30 people.

Headquartered in Tonawanda, N.Y., NOCO Energy owns and operates approximately 40 gasoline c-stores throughout Western New York and Rochester. The company also provides industrial and residential fuels, industrial and commercial lubricants and engine motor oils, heating and cooling services and oil recovery services.
