New Town & Country store emerges from dream phase

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- A new Town & Country superstore opened on Wednesday in San Angelo, Texas. The complex, called the Total Car Care Center, includes a new T&C store, three-bay lube center and what the company says is the longest car-wash tunnel in the state of Texas.

The store has been in its dream phase for more than two years, the product of one of the most concerted construction, marketing and planning episodes in the 40-year history of the San Angelo-based chain.

The store itself is the largest in the company's 153[image-nocss] -store group, with more than 8700 sq. ft. of space in the store, a Country Cookin' foodservice outlet along with Town & Country's proprietary Cold Front fountain offering and Hot Spot coffee, cappuccino and steamer bar. The Cool Zone drink vaults cover an entire wall of the store and feature a walk-in beer cave for self-service of multi-packs of ice-cold beer. It also includes a Grab n' Go cold case, featuring freshly-made sandwiches, subs, barbecue beans, potato salad, fruits, fresh salads, fruit cups, puddings, pie and cake slices.

Also included is a dining area with numerous tables and chairs for diners, a spacious sitting area for oil-change customers and an indoor playground. A tunnel vision area with seating looks into the actual carwash tunnel, giving customers a right/center/left panoramic view of their vehicles as they traverse the fully automated wash tunnel.

This store, lube center and car wash is a unique offering here in San Angelo, said Kevin Tims, director of the Total Car Care complex. Gasoline, oil-change, car wash, foodservice or convenience products are here for the time-saving pleasure of our customers. We offer services and products that focus on fast, saving customers the most precious commodity they havetime. In addition to fast, we feel that the various amenities offered will allow the customers to leave the complex feeling that they have had a very positive facility experience.

Alvin New, president of Town & Country, added, This store concept has been in the planning stages for a long time, and now with the plans becoming a reality, we feel that the people of San Angelo and the entire Concho Valley will respond positively to what we are offering them.

Town & Country has 146 convenience stores in West Texas and eastern New Mexico, plus seven supermarkets in various West Texas towns.
