Rapid retailer Foxtrot—an urban convenience-store chain with delivery—opened its fourth Austin, Texas, location on Aug. 26 on Guadalupe Street, known as ‘The Drag,’ which runs along the western edge of the University of Texas campus.
Cofounders Mike LaVitola and Taylor Bloom came up with the idea for Foxtrot while they both lived in Austin.
As a UT alumnus, Bloom hopes that the new location will help “foster inspiration for the next generation of entrepreneurs, serving as a place where students can go to find their next favorite study snack, gather with friends or enjoy a meal before class,” the retailer said.
The store will offer its signature all-day café experience, along with grocery items that include local products. As part of the store’s opening celebration, shoppers who downloaded and used the Foxtrot app received a gift.
Founded in 2014, Foxtrot now operates 29 locations in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas and Austin, Texas, with plans to continue expansion in both existing and new markets this fall.
