GetGo Café + Market will open its first new-build location with a drive-thru window on Feb. 2. The new build is in Mentor, Ohio, and the second GetGo store to include a drive-thru window.

“This location is unique as it’s our first GetGo built from the ground up to feature a drive-thru," said Brandon Daniels, public relations manager. "We’re all about fresh food, and with this drive-thru lane, we’re thrilled to bring the Mentor community our delicious made-to-order menu with the convenience you’d expect from GetGo.”

Customers can order from the store's full made-to-order menu at the drive-thru, as well as a large selection of store products, packaged beverages, snacks and packaged food available from the drive-thru’s touchscreen kiosk.

"Our plan is to continue adding drive-thrus to more of our new stores as we continue to grow and expand throughout the region," Daniels told CSP. "We have 20 locations in development throughout Ohio that will be opening in the next two years. Most of them will feature a drive-thru just like the one at this new store in Mentor."

The Mentor store will celebrate its grand opening beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday with a Groundhog Day theme. The event will include giant sub-cutting ceremony (GetGo’s twist on a ribbon-cutting ceremony) at 12:30 p.m. Festivities include live music, giveaways, raffle drawings, food and beverage samples and celebrity appearances.

In addition to celebrating the new store, GetGo will present a donation to Hunger Network. To supplement this donation, GetGo also announced the “Buy a Sub, Share the Love” initiative, in which $1 of every sub purchased in the month of February will be donated to Hunger Network (up to $2,500). Hunger Network is Cuyahoga County’s second largest emergency food distribution and recovery organization, and for 25 years, has worked to end food insecurity and inequity through hunger relief centers and food rescue programs. They also work to build a healthier community by providing hygiene items, nutrition education resources, and connections to health providers.

Ohio football legend Josh Cribbs will be the celebrity guest team member on drive-thru duty, helping to fulfill orders from 1-2 p.m. Cribbs will be available to take selfies and sign autographs.

Ahmaad Crump, the on-court host for the Cleveland Cavaliers will be part of the celebration from noon to 1 p.m. GetGo’s mascot, Lil’ Tot, will be joined by Cleveland Cavaliers’ mascot, Sir CC, at that time as well for photo opportunities.

Owned and operated by Giant Eagle Inc., GetGo is a food-first convenience store experience with more than 260 locations throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
