Supermarket and convenience-store retailer Giant Eagle's fuelperks+ customers are now part of an “enhanced” myPerks program allowing more ways to earn and flexibility in how perks are redeemed, the retailer said. All fuelperks+ customers were moved on Jan. 25.

“This latest evolution of our longstanding, popular loyalty program came from listening to our customers and recognizing that we had an opportunity to bring together the best of our two programs in a way that delivers flexible, meaningful savings for all customers,” said Justin Weinstein, executive vice president and chief strategy and marketing officer at Giant Eagle.

The revamped rewards offering allows customers to earn perks faster on Giant Eagle brand products, prescriptions and access to third-party partners.  Perk redemption opportunities include cents off per gallon (up to 30 gallons) of gas at GetGo, up to 20% off groceries at Giant Eagle supermarkets orthe choice of dollar rewards.

The program displays the customer’s perks redemptions options during checkout, highlighting the option that provides maximum savings. Customers now have up to 12 months to redeem perks earned. Shoppers can continue to use their current Advantage Card to earn and redeem rewards points, and all perks earned under the fuelperks+ program will automatically transition to a customer’s myPerks accounts.

  • Giant Eagle’s GetGo Café + Market is No. 31 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

The new program provides “more ways to achieve Pro status, the top tier of the myPerks program that unlocks the ability to increase perks earnings by 50% across groceries, prescriptions, gas, and gift cards,” the retailer said.

Giant Eagle operates more than 470 food, fuel and pharmacy retail locations across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
