Kwik Trip’s new 14,000-square-foot health center opened earlier this month, and the company held an open house May 12 for employees.

“The new clinic and pharmacy are now open and fully operational,” Ben Leibl, company spokesperson, told CSP.

Kwik Trip in June 2025 began construction on the center to expand upon wellness offerings, especially in post-surgery services and physical therapy, for employees, Leibl told CSP last year.

The center, which includes a pharmacy solely for employees, was added onto La Crosse, Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip’s daycare facility, which is about a five-minute drive from the company’s support center, Leibl said last year.

The clinic and pharmacy are at 2839 Darling Court. The center is available for full- and part-time employees; the company had outgrown an existing clinic for employees that is in an industrial park, Leibl said.

The company has about 4,000 coworkers at its support center campus, Leibl said, plus coworkers who work at La Crosse-area Kwik Trips who also will use the healthcare center—“thus the new building,” he said.

"Kwik Trip is committed to our coworkers’ wellness by expanding our healthcare center,” Leibl said. “This project highlights our dedication to providing accessible, high-quality health services for our coworkers.”

On May 12, John McHugh, vice president of external relations for Kwik Trip, told WKBT News8000.com, “What we’re celebrating today is the opening of a new version of our Center for Health. We opened our previous Center for Health in 2013, and we’ve outgrown that facility.”

McHugh also said, “What we have here in the new location that we didn’t have in the old location is an on-site pharmacy,” according to WKBT. “And that’ll be a huge benefit for our co-workers because of the price of pharmaceuticals. We’re hoping that we can lower the prices for our people.” Having pharmacy services at the workplace eliminates the need for employees to travel elsewhere for prescriptions, he added.

The health center extends certain services to the dependents of employees, WKBT reported.

Kwik earlier this month was named best gas station brand and best gas station food in the United States in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Family-owned Kwik Trip, which is considering building a third distribution center, has 919 locations and is one of the biggest independently held c-store chains in the country. It has locations in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin under the Kwik Trip banner and stores in Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota under the Kwik Star name. Kwik Trip produces more than 80% of the products sold in its stores, supplied by its own bakery, commissary, dairy and distribution center.
