Chris Hartman and Tom Turnbaugh have been promoted to vice president roles at Rutter’s, while Mike Shonk is now a senior director, joining the senior executive team.

Hartman, part of the 11th generation of Rutter’s ownership, is now vice president of fuels, advertising and development.

Beginning at 13 years old, Hartman worked in Rutter’s stores each summer and gained knowledge of store operations. He returned to Rutter’s in 2018, after working outside the business for five years and receiving his MBA in finance from George Washington University. Hartman continues to expand his role within the company and looks to build on the success of previous generations, the company said.

Turnbaugh has been promoted to vice president of finance and accounting. He joined Rutter’s in June 2020, bringing more than 10 years of finance and accounting experience to the role of director of financial planning and analysis. He was promoted to senior director of finance and accounting in December 2021. He is a native of central Pennsylvania and a graduate of York College.

Shonk is the company’s new senior director of facilities and development. He came to Rutter’s in September, bringing 23 years of experience to the role of director of facilities. In addition to his current facilities management responsibilities, Shonk will also be charged with overseeing the development of new stores and remodels.
