Wawa Donates $10,000 in Grants to North Carolina Nonprofits

Funds to go toward a food bank, military police battalion, more

The Wawa Foundation has distributed $10,000 in grants to nonprofits in North Carolina.

A $5,000 grant is going to the United Service Organizations of North Carolina, with $2,500 presented in Greenville to support the 514th Military Police Battalion, North Carolina National Guard Development event and provide additional care to those service members being deployed along with their families. The other $2,500 is going to Wilson to support a USO holiday event for the 211 MP Company Unit of 100 services members.

The Wawa Foundation also donated $5,000 to Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina. Greenville received $2,500 to nourish people, build solutions and empower communities that the Greenville Brand of the Food Bank serves, including five counties in eastern North Carolina: Edgecomb, Greene, Lenoir, Pitt and Wilson Counties. And $2,500 was presented in Wilson to nourish people, build solutions and empower communities.

We look forward to elevating the impact of these incredible organizations, beginning strong partnerships and making a difference for new friends and neighbors in North Carolina in the years to come.”

Wawa revealed the donations at its double header Community Partnership Day events in Greenville and Wilson, North Carolina. The company announced expansion plans, offered samples of Wawa food and beverages and shared the Wawa story.

Wawa has about 1,000 stores primarily in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C.
