Wilson Farms Facelifts

Chain investing in Western New York through expansions, remodels

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores is giving several of its convenience stores a facelift with new stone facades that the company said will reflect traditional features. The first store to receive the remodeling upgrade is located in Buffalo, N.Y., and it will almost double in size following approval on construction plans from the city's planning board, according to the company, based there.

The first store, currently 2,535-square-feet will, by mid-fall, increase its size to 4,628-sqaure-feet. The expansion will bring to the store a deli with fresh [image-nocss] meats and cheeses, an expanded produce selection and an increase in overall product variety.

"This expansion means our customers will have even more reasons to shop at Wilson Farms and we will be able to better meet their needs as their neighborhood food store," said Wilson Farms president and CEO Paul Nanula.

The expansion of the first store, estimated to cost in excess of $500,000, is just one way that Wilson Farms will be investing in the Western New York community as a handful of area stores are slated to receive "facelifts" with new front stone-facades that will reflect traditional features.

Currently, another Wilson Farms store in Buffalo is undergoing construction with plans for project execution at the end of this summer, the company added.

"Buffalo and the entire Western New York area show such promise for future success and Wilson Farms is proud to be part of such a community," Nanula said. "With the cost of living on a continued rise, Wilson Farms wants our customers to know that we have a vested interest in seeing this community thrive. We aim to give our customers quality products and prices they love."

Four other locations in Buffalo-area (one each in Kenmore and West Seneca and two in Morth Tonawanda) are slated for store-front remodels. Each front-facade remodel is estimated to cost between $40,000 and $50,000 per store, according to the retailer.Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores currently operates 198 c-store and gas station locations across the state of New York under the names Wilson Farms, Wilson Farms Xpress and Sugarcreek Stores.
