Chester's Opens in Love's Travel Plaza

Colbert, Okla., travel stop is newest location for chicken QSR

COLBERT, Okla. -- Chester's International LLC, a major fried chicken foodservice offering in the convenience store category, has announced the grand opening of Chester's in Colbert, Okla., to be operated by Love's Travel Stops. The opening will take place on Thursday, March 20, at the northwest corner of Highway 69 and Platter Road, in the Love's travel center.

Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is a family-owned company headquartered in Oklahoma City, with more than 200 sites throughout the United States. Love's was Chester's first franchisee, and today is the largest franchise [image-nocss] operator in the system, with almost 40 Chester's and Chester Fried locations in travel plazas across the United States. Love's is slated to add many additional Chester's locations in 2008.

"Working with a national brand like Chester's has proven to be successful for us," said Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores. "The marketing support we get from Chester's is a much needed boost that we could only get from a strong foodservice partner."

This Love's location will serve both lunch and dinner, offering Chester's signature menu options, which include Chester's fried chicken, potato wedges and biscuits. The Colbert Chester's will also feature both dine-in and carryout options.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Chester's is a leader in quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts with more than 1,500 Chester Fried licensed and Chester's franchised locations.
