ATLANTA — Circle K’s Atlanta-based franchisee Gas Express LLC will offer hot chicken through a partnership with Champs Chicken this spring. More than 30 Circle K-branded Gas Express stores in Atlanta and Little Rock, Ark., will offer Champs Chicken, with that number expected to double by the end of 2021, the companies said.

“We are proud to partner with Champs Chicken in the Atlanta area,” said Amin Chitalwala, CEO of Gas Express. “We want to serve our customers with the highest-quality food that they expect—at an affordable price—and by partnering with Champs Chicken, we can do just that. Their menu, food quality and customer support are second to none.”

The program includes entrees such as fried chicken tenders, chicken dippers and ChampStix (fried chicken on a stick), as well as sides including macaroni and cheese, potato wedges, sweet corn and collard greens.

“We remain unwavering in our commitment to customers,” said Shawn Burcham, CEO and founder of Holts Summit, Mo.-based PFSbrands, parent company of Champs Chicken. “When you see our label, you can be assured you’ll receive the best meal at a great value each and every time. We’re excited to be working with Gas Express LLC and Circle K and we look forward to serving the Atlanta and Little Rock communities.”

Champs Chicken offers retail fried chicken programs to more than 400 stores in 39 states.

Originally an independently owned c-store chain offering gasoline brands such as BP, Shell, Texaco and Chevron, Gas Express became a Circle K franchisee in 2012.

With more than 5,900 stores in the United States, Circle K is No. 2 on the Top 40 update to CSP’s 2019 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by number of retail outlets. CSP will release the complete 2020 list in June. The chain is a division of Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc..
