Selling chicken and looking to save some bucks?

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Greenwood Village, Colorado, has switched to hand-breading the chicken that goes on its crispy chicken sandwich and cooking the sandwiches to order, reports CSP sister publication Restaurant Business.

The company said it will save it $5 million yearly while also boosting the quality of its food.

“The change is part of the casual-dining chain’s ongoing turnaround strategy under CEO G.J. Hart,” Restaurant Business reports. “Red Robin is pouring millions of dollars into its food, service and marketing and cutting costs where it can.”
