Gulf Oil Goes Back to Track

Hyperfuels to market Gulf Racing Fuel to race tracks, performance retailers nationwide

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP, has forged a new partnership with Hyperfuels, a distributor of high-performance race fuels throughout the United States. The multi-year agreement returns the iconic Gulf brand to race tracks and performance retailers throughout the country.

Through this new partnership, Hyperfuels will be developing and marketing Gulf Racing Fuel in various grades of unleaded, nonethanol blends, including 105 and 110 octane. These products will soon be available throughout the United States in both a bulk and packaged format.

Hyperfuels distributes racing fuels throughout the United States through major petroleum distributors and Parts-Grabber, B2B Platform. Hyperfuels also sells products at retail through a nationwide dealer network as well as through its website. Gulf Hydrocarbon Partners Ltd., its parent company, has been a leading supplier of renewable fuels, including biodiesel and renewable diesel since 1999.

Framingham, Mass.-based Gulf Oil is a national, branded supplier of motor fuels throughout the United States and its territories. It is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products, as well as in the rest of the country. Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points. Gulf Oil supplies gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene through its terminal network.

The Cumberland Gulf Group includes Cumberland Farms Inc. and Gulf Oil LP. Cumberland Farms is parent company to Gulf LP, one of the largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. In 2011, the Cumberland Group generated roughly $13.0 billion of sales through a footprint of approximately 600 c-store locations in 11 states operated under the Cumberland Farms banner and through the operations of its subsidiary Gulf Oil. The Cumberland Group, based in Framingham, Mass., is a privately held, family-owned and managed company that includes real-estate and midstream gasoline operations.
