ExxonMobil Converting Memphis

40 Tigermarkets changing to On the Run convenience store format

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- In May, ExxonMobil is converting its 40 Memphis-area Tigermarket convenience stores to On the Run c-stores at Exxon gas stations.

On the Run stores are operated by ExxonMobil as well as independent franchisees. There are more than 680 On the Run locations in the United States and more than 1,360 sites in more than 45 countries worldwide. The concept strengthens a site's backcourt offering and helps retailers compete with nontraditional fuel marketers. While store sizes vary based on local conditions, most On the Run stores are approximately 3,000 [image-nocss] to 4,000 square feet.

Twenty-eight of the locations are in Memphis, while two are in the Germantown, Tenn., area; two are in the Cordova, Tenn., area; and one each are in the Collierville and Bartlett, Tenn., areas. One each is in the

Southhaven and Hornlake, Miss., areas, and one is in the West Memphis, Ark., area.

On the Run-branded stores are designed to meet rising consumer expectations for fast services and quality products in a clean and friendly environment, the company said. They offer a variety of brand-name products and food offerings, including Bengal Traders gourmet coffee and On the Run Cafe breakfast sandwiches. All On the Run sites offer ATMs and E-Wiz kiosks, clean restrooms and ample store-front parking. Some sites also have Wash n Run car washes.

All of the On the Run store accept Speedpass, the cashless payment system that is linked to a customer's credit or check card. It can be used both at the pump to pay for gas or inside the On the Run store.

"When you walk into an On the Run store, you'll notice a difference," said Ben Soraci, U.S. retail sales director for ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing Co. "We've worked hard to make our customers' experience pleasurable and convenient. The conversion of Tigermarkets in the Memphis area demonstrates our commitment to the On the Run brand and reflects the tremendous customer acceptance of the On the Run offering."

As part of the conversion celebration, On the Run is conducting the Extreme Convenience Road Trip Giveaway. One winner will receive a road trip valued at $10,000 to any U.S. destination. The prize includes trip planning, hotel accommodations and ExxonMobil cash cards. The winner will be announced June 4, 2007.

To further celebrate the Memphis-area On the Run conversion, the brand will be visible at several Memphis events including Memphis Redbird games, Memphis in May International Festival, the National Civil Rights Museum's Freedom Awards and Grace magazine's 10th Anniversary Gala & Sisterhood Showcase.
