GasBuddy, GreenPrint Get Together for Value-Added Gas

Companies expect partnership to increase consumer goodwill, retailer fuel sales, profitability

BOSTON & ATLANTA -- GasBuddy, the largest community-based gas price comparison app, and GreenPrint, a provider of reduced carbon fuel programs, have announced a strategic relationship.

GreenPrint provides reduced-emissions fuel programs that enable refiners, wholesalers and fuel retailers to increase consumer goodwill, sales and profitability while supporting their communities and environment. The deal allows GreenPrint to reach customers at a final stage of the gasoline-buying process through GasBuddy.

For example, Alon 7-Eleven stores in Albuquerque, N.M., and soon Lubbock, Texas, offer GreenPrint’s Strive Reduced Emissions Fuel Program. GreenPrint calculates consumers’ carbon emissions on each gallon of fuel and invests in projects like planting trees in the local community to reduce those emissions in the atmosphere.

GreenPrint provides a strong, relevant and unique consumer message with a goal of adjusting consumers’ focus on value rather than price.

“Our mission is to truly serve the public by providing a real-time platform that gives consumers access to the information they need to make informed decisions about their fuel purchases. The fact that drivers can now buy gas with a significantly lower environmental impact is a powerful piece of information,” said Mike Schneider, chief marketing officer at GasBuddy, Boston. “GreenPrint goes beyond price with their innovative, value-driven and environmentally impactful programs that so clearly align with our goals. We’re happy to work with GreenPrint and their clients such as Alon and Ricker’s who are leading the charge and building consumer awareness,” said Mike Schneider, chief marketing officer at GasBuddy, Boston.

When consumers scroll through the GasBuddy app, they will notice a green leaf next to each store participating in one of GreenPrint’s reduced emissions fuel programs. The leaf links to a customized website to explain the benefit that comes with each program.

“Our goal is to drive loyalty to our retail clients and get customers to think a little differently when they fill up their tanks,” said Pete Davis, founder and CEO of GreenPrint, Atlanta. “GasBuddy is an ideal partner to help us spread the word and deliver the right message, to the right consumer, at the right time.”

GasBuddy is a leading app that helps consumers find cheap gas. With more than 56 million downloads and 15 million monthly active users, GasBuddy is home to the world’s largest network of people working together daily to outsmart the pump. The app and website have the most real-time fuel prices with more than two million user-submitted price updates every day. It also offers price-increase alerts and exclusive discounts on favorite brands
