Jones & Frank Forges New Relationship

Joins Gilbarco Veeder-Root's North American distributor team

NORFOLK, Va. -- Jones & Frank Corp. has joined Gilbarco Veeder-Root's North American distributor team. Jones & Frank will add the broad line of Gilbarco products and services to its current offerings.

This new relationship with Gilbarco will allow us toprovide new and powerful system solutions to meet the unique needs of our diverse customer base, said Sterling Baker, president of Norfolk, Va.-based Jones & Frank.

He added, We feel this move also supports our customer base that has grown many times through acquisition [image-nocss] and now requires service and technology support across various product lines over a large geographic area. Growth plans for our company include a new office in Baltimore, Md., to support our growing service presence there, and Florida is also being evaluated.

Jones & Frank supplies a variety of petroleum equipment and services and operates from seven branch offices located in the southeastern United States.

Meanwhile, in related news, Gasboya unit of Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Roothas introduced two improved pumps specifically designed for aboveground storage tank (AST) applications. The Atlas ASTRA 9823K and Atlas Compact Mechanical 9123K series feature improved metering, pumping unit and frame materials compared to the company's previous models.

The ASTRA 9823K is the industry's only split electronic pump, according to the company. It has a suction pump hydraulic module that mounts directly on top of the AST. A separate electronic computer head that features an LCD display and nozzle hangup boot mounts conveniently at grade for easy access. The ASTRA 9823K works as a standalone pump, or can work in conjunction with a Gasboy Fleet Management System for complete fuel access and fleet management.

The Compact Mechanical 9123K is a complete pump and mechanical register system packaged in a reduced height frame. It can mount on top of the tank, on a shelf on the side of the tank, or at grade for maximum installation flexibility. By adding an optional pulser, it can also operate in conjunction with a Gasboy Fleet Management controller for added security and fuel management.

Both models are Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) listed and weights and measures approved for fuel sales in the United States and Canada. Internal filter and preset control valve are standard features on both models that also include an improved 10-vane rotary pumping unit with integrated air separation for quiet operation, a 1-hp continuous duty motor for long life, the Gasboy CFT meter for improved operation with harsh fuels and an increased thickness G90 galvanized steel frame and painted galvanized steel panels for exceptional corrosion resistance.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Gasboy are leading suppliers of integrated fuel control, site management, and support services for petroleum marketers and commercial fueling enterprises worldwide.
