SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Alkaline Water Co. has partnered with Centuria Foods Inc. on an expanded line of its cannabidiol (CBD) products.

The producer of bottled alkaline water plans to make CBD shots, tinctures, capsules and powder packs.

The 25-milligram, hemp-derived CBD-infused beverage shots will come in four varieties: a blood orange-flavored energy shot, a peach mango-flavored recovery shot, a watermelon cucumber-flavored relaxation shot and a lemon honey-flavored sleep shot. Also available will be 150-milligram hemp-derived CBD tinctures (cinnamon and chia flavored), 25-milligram hemp-derived CBD capsules and 25-milligram CBD powder packets (lemon-lime and orange flavored).

The suggested retail price for the products is $3.99 for the shots and powder packs, $29.99 for the tinctures and $89.99 for the capsules.

“According to BDS Analytics, U.S. CBD sales are expected to surpass $20 billion by 2024,” said Richard Wright, president and CEO of Alkaline Water. “We expect to capitalize on this growth through leveraging our CBD product portfolio to accelerate our entrance into the convenience-store market, which has been an early adopter of ingestible CBD-infused products.”

Centuria, a provider of phytocannabinoid-rich hemp-derived CBD ingredients for use in nutritional, pharmaceutical and wellness products, will be Alkaline Water's exclusive supplier of water-soluble phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil.

“Working with Centuria Foods is a natural fit for our company,” Wright said. “Centuria produces the highest-quality non-GMO, organic, kosher and halal-certified PCR hemp oil in the industry, which aligns with our commitment to ‘clean beverages’ only made with easy-to-understand and high-quality ingredients.”

Alkaline Water said it will not pursue the commercial production or sale of CBD-infused products until legally permitted. The products are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the company. Neither the U.S. Food & Drug Administration nor the U.S. Department of Agriculture has released guidelines on handling and selling CBD, which has led to some convenience-store leaders being excited about the product and some concerned

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Alkaline Water's flagship product is Alkaline88, which is a chemical-free alkaline water that’s balanced at 8.8 pH, according to the company.
