How C-Stores Fuel America (Infographic)

The ways the channel intersects our daily lives

ST. PAUL, Minn. – There are approximately 246 million cars on the nation’s roads. One out of every $25 spent in America is spent at a convenience store. From fuel to snacks to coffee, convenience stores are uniquely equipped to meet the needs of Americans on the go.

Cenex (CSP Daily News / Convenience Stores / Gas Stations)

Cenex, the retail gas station and convenience store brand of CHS Inc., has collected a variety of statistics about how much consumers travel and how they use convenience stores during those trips.

Cenex is a brand of CHS, a global agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States. The diversified energy and grain-based food company has headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. The nation’s largest co-operative refiner, CHS operates petroleum refineries/pipelines and manufactures, markets and distributes refined fuels, renewable fuels, lubricants and propane, primarily under the Cenex brand.

The company's energy products are distributed through a network of more than 1,400 Cenex-branded gas stations and convenience stores in 19 states, including 70 CHS-owned Cenex Zip Trip convenience-store locations. The network of Cenex-branded retailers is among the top 20 largest convenience store chains in North America. CHS also markets petroleum products under private labels for other businesses.
