LA CROSSE, Wis. — Convenience retailer Kwik Trip has teamed up with Silver Spring Foods, a subsidiary of Huntsinger Farms, the largest grower and processor of horseradish, to place the Silver Spring’s condiments on the shelves of 613 Kwik Trip locations.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Wisconsin’s favorite gas station and convenience store; this is an exciting new opportunity that will greatly benefit our community, our team and our customers,” said Bob Gentz, regional sales manager at Silver Spring Foods.

The strategic partnership marks the first time Silver Spring Foods branded products will be placed in convenience stores in the Midwest, allowing new growth in a segment that has been “virtually untouched,” the Eu Claire, Wis.-based company said.

The condiments include:

  • Yellow Mustard. Traditionally available in 20-oz. bottles, Silver Spring Foods created a custom Kwik Trip-sized 9.5-oz. squeeze bottle of Yellow Mustard priced at $1.89. It is kosher certified, gluten-free and has no artificial flavors or preservatives and no high fructose corn syrup.
  • Beer’n Brat Mustard. A blend of gluten-free fresh ground horseradish and hearty mustard, Beer’n Brat Mustard is available in a 9.5-oz. bottle priced at $2.29.
  • Sassy Horseradish Sauce. The smooth consistency of this gluten-free horseradish sauce makes it perfect for spreading on sandwiches and blending into other sauces. It is available in a 9.25-oz bottle priced at $2.99.

Silver Spring has been family-owned and operated since 1929, processes packages, and markets horseradish along with a variety of specialty mustards and other food products to retail, foodservice, private-label and industrial customers.

Kwik Trip is a family-owned company that serves customers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa with 768 convenience stores under the Kwik Trip and Kwik Star banners and produces more than 80% of the products featured in the stores, supplied by its own commissary, bakery, dairy and distribution center in La Crosse. Kwik Trip is No. 12 on CSP’s Top 40 update to the 2020 Top 202 ranking of c-stores by store count.
