New West Petroleum Inks Service Agreement

McLane Co. deal extends through 2008

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- New West Petroleum LLC, a wholesale petroleum distributor and operator of 36 convenience stores in the San Diego and Central California market under the Exxon, Chevron and Shell brands, has entered into a service agreement with McLane Co. Inc. that extends through 2008.

McLane is very enthusiastic about supporting New West Petroleum's sales and growth goals by providingfood and nonfood distribution services, said Paul Souza, president of the company's McLane Pacific division, Merced, Calif.

McLane Pacific provides wholesale distribution of more than 12,000 lines of grocery and general products to more than 1,800 retailers. Its service area extends north to the Oregon boarder, south through California to the Bakersfield area and east across the northern half of Nevada. The 220,000-sq.-ft. warehouse operates 24 hours daily and maintains and operates a truck fleet of more than 50 tractors and trailers.

Temple, Texas-based McLane Co. Inc. provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and nonfood products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick-service restaurant (QSR) and movie theater industries. It operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company. McLane is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Omaha.
