Taking place July 16-20 in Erie, Pa., Roar brings together more than 100,000 bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts from across the nation to experience the best of the Great Lakes region and to give back to organizations in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The 2014 rally will benefit St. Patrick's Haven, a shelter for homeless men, 60% of whom are veterans. Since its inception in 2007, Roar has raised more than $500,000 for charitable organizations in Pennsylvania.

Leading up to the rally in July, Country Fair and CITGO will raffle off VIP Event Passes for customers to enter the Pre-Parade event, the Bike Parade and the Rocket 101 Beer Garden. All Country Fair locations in Erie County will be selling official Roar lighters and coffee mugs with proceeds benefitting St. Patrick's Haven. Roar attendees can also visit the Country Fair/CITGO booth to sign up for a CITGO Rewards Credit Card and receive a $5 CITGO Gift Card.

The official rally events kick off with pre-Roar Bike Night on July 16, followed by daily motorcycle raffles, vendor merchandise deals, free live entertainment and escorted scenic bike rides throughout Erie County, including the Roar Through History Ride & Raffle, Thunder on the Isle: The Mayor's Ride and the Roar to the Vineyards Poker Run.

Throughout the four-day rally, Country Fair and CITGO will sponsor the main stage, which will host performances by local and regional talent of all music backgrounds, including John Kay & Steppenwolf, Van Halen tribute band Panama and AC/DC tribute band Dirty Deeds. The newly crowned Miss Pennsylvania 2014 Amanda Smith and state two local titleholders will be fueling good with CITGO and Country Fair on July 18 and 19, and will join in the crowning of Miss Roar on the Shore 2014-2015 on July 19.

"We know what a positive effect Roar has on the local community. We are excited to be a part of an event that brings so many different people to Erie," said Country Fair advertising manager Stacy Kline.

Independent CITGO marketers own and operate nearly 300 CITGO locations in Pennsylvania. Based in Houston, CITGO is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela SA, the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Erie-based Country Fair is a chain of more than 70 convenience stores across three states.
