CEFCO Adds Store in Texas

Growth continues with Marble Falls site acquisition

TEMPLE, Texas -- Fikes Wholesale Inc., parent company of the 252 location CEFCO Convenience Stores chain, has announced that it has successfully completed the purchase of a retail site located in Marble Falls, Texas.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The company said that this acquisition represents the continuation of CEFCO's aggressive growth pattern, preceded by the Jan. 9, 2012, acquisition of the 63-store Taylor Petroleum Co. chain based in Amarillo, Texas, and the August 2011 acquisition of the 69-store Food Fast chain based in Tyler, Texas.

Fikes Wholesale is a more than 60-year-old company that began as a fuel distributor and has grown to an entity that encompasses other businesses that are centered around and serve the convenience store industry. Among the company's ventures are CEFCO Convenience Stores, holdings in the financial services industry and a charter jet service. The company employs more than 2,000 people across the southern United States.

Temple, Texas-based CEFCO now operates 252 convenience stores within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.
