Kum & Go Gives Away Tankers of Gas

Four customers win five years' worth of fuel

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- In its Keep on Truckin' gasoline promotion, Kum & Go gave away four 8,200-gallon tanker trucks-worth of fuel on September 23 at a winner's presentation event in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Jeanette Chance, Fordland, Mo., 47, a middle school secretary; Lloyd Reeder, Atlantic, Iowa, 59, a research associate; Ida Gerber, Omaha, Neb., 44, an accounting office worker; and Shirley Reekers, Fort Dodge Iowa, 47, a postal carrier will not have to pay for gasoline for the next five years.

When we [image-nocss] envisioned this promotion, we never imagined gas would reach $3 per gallon, said Kum & Go convenience store CEO Kyle Krause. This is a significant prize; having free gas for five years is like winning the lottery.

Estimated value of the 32,800 total gallons of gasoline is $24,263. Nearly two million entries were collected from all 425 Kum & Go locations throughout 13 states.

The promotion was open to Kum & Go customers who are residents in one of the 13 states in which Kum & Go operates, including Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming and Wisconsin.
